As a privately operated not for profit organization, Pioneer Lodge room rates cover all operating costs. Efforts to keep costs low reflect in the affordable rent rates. Operating budgets are reviewed annually and generally result in an increase of approximately 1.5% once a year every January. This rent cost covers meals, housekeeping, linen and towels change, building amenities and some recreation programming.
Pioneer Lodge & House supports keeping spouses together and will work with you to find a solution that best fits both of your needs.

Rates
Additional costs include laundry service once a week and cable television subscription for each room. These costs are included in the total rent charge per month and are not optional. Residents are also required to have liability insurance oftentimes referred to as tenant insurance. Optional costs would be parking, phone, and internet.
Rent is based on income and ranges from $1,165 to $1,612 per occupant, and is depending on room size selected.

Flexibility
Pioneer applies for Alberta Lodge Assistance Program funding. This funding allows Pioneer to apply a $266 rent reduction to those who qualify. If this rent reduction is not sufficient, we will work with the resident to apply a further reduction leaving room for personal cost of other necessities such as medication or HomeCare services.
Additional support toward the cost of some appliances, and specific health and personal supports can be found through Seniors Financial Assistance programs | Alberta.ca.
